QIAstat Gastrointestinal Syndromic Panel

gastro

In our lab we have validated three mark leading commercial multiplex panels, starting with the BD MAX Enteric Assays, trough SeeGene Allplex and BioFire Gastroenteritis FilmArray. A few months ago we started the evaluation of QIAstat GI Assay Panel that was able to fuse the best experience parts of all three other systems that we tested:
- the sensitivity of the BD MAX
- the robustness of Allplex
- the rapidness of the FilmArray

QIAstat Respiratory Syndromic Panel

resp qiastat test
The validation of #QIAstat Respiratory Panel went excellent! The test cartridge has 2 sample ports and can accommodate UTM and direct swab. We validated direct swab assay and got excellent performance. This is going to be a real competitor to #FilmArray. I am happy that microbiology is moving to syndromic testing which goes closer and closer to point of care.

This is probably from the software the most thought of software and machine design on a syndromic panel market that you will be able to find. The machine needs approximately 1 h 30 min to run the test, the hands-on time is 30-45 seconds and cannot be compared to FilmArray. The user is logged in and the test is scanned in no time, everything even without touching the screen. User hardware and software experience will be at a very high level.

HOW DO YOU TYPE? BRUKER IR Biotyper: cheep typing with rep-PCR resolution

BioTyper PHOTO (ECCMID 2017)

Good timing and good value proposition. It is happening just at the right moment when bioMérieux announced that the DiversiLab® platform will be taken off the market because of manufactural problems of DNA chips. Infrared (IR) Biotyper could be a very good solution if you are one of the labs that use DiversiLab® as the main typing platform for outbreak surveillance. Read More…

Is the STAT-Dx the next big thing after BioFire ?

FullSizeRender PHOTO (ECCMID 2017)

VIENNA (GenomeWeb) – Spain's Stat-Dx this week unveiled the first production units of its fully integrated and automated molecular testing platform for infectious diseases along with the system's first test cartridge, a respiratory panel designed to detect and identify up to 22 viral and bacterial pathogens simultaneously. Barcelona-based Stat-Dx (formerly Stat-Diagnostica) also plans to begin clinical trials of the platform and respiratory panel over the next few months at various hospitals across Europe with the intent of launching the products with CE marking in the second half of this year…
